Table stand for studio monitors (pair)
Fluid Audio has designed the DS8 for 2-way studio monitors with 7″ or 8″ woofers. The stands can be set up with a height of 7.62 cm or 15.24 cm. With the rubber caps fitted, an effective acoustic decoupling of the monitors is achieved and a tilt angle of 0°, 3° or 6° can be realised as desired.
Another advantage of using the stands is that the tweeters of the monitors are more or less at ear level, resulting in a much more balanced sound image at the listening position.
The support frames are made of robust and well-damped MDF (just like your speaker cabinets); the spacers are made of polypropylene. This thermoplastic material does not tend to “clink” as is known from ABS plastic. The support frames are fitted at the top and bottom with four caps each made of 50-durometer rubber, which extremely absorb the speaker’s kinetic energy. The result: your monitors can perform “liberated”, with more definition in the bass range and less distortion in the mids.
